Why the trip is planned this way ⛳

I’ve had some great questions about how these trips are put together, so here’s a peek behind the planning. Our cabin is at Deacons Lodge. There are free shuttles that take us all over to the Breezy Properties. There is only the golf course and Palmers Grill in walking distance of where our Cabin is. 

The goal is to make the most of a weekend up north. These trips are about enjoying a new place, or a familiar favorite, together. Golf takes a few hours, so I try to balance it with other activities and real free time.

Thursday night. Check-in is at 4pm, and nothing is on the schedule besides the welcome drink you'll be handed at arrival and checking out the swag bag thats on your bed! It’s time to settle in and get to know each other. Many of us head to Dockside for a fun, casual night at the resort bar. There’s usually a band playing, and the weather is often fantastic! Dinner is on your own - however we can always change this plan depending on who is coming and when they are arriving. 

Most people take a half day work wise and arrive between 4-6pm.

Friday morning is a tradition. We start the day with breakfast together, bloodies and mimosas, then head to the putting green for our annual putting contest before the round. It’s one of my favorite parts of the trip!

Friday’s tee time is in the afternoon for a reason. At Deacon’s, rounds before 2pm cost about $150 per person, and the price drops significantly at 2pm and again at 3:30pm. The later time keeps the trip affordable for everyone.

Saturday is our big day. New for 2027, we’ll play the new short course in the late morning, then spend the afternoon on the pontoon. Saturday evening is open. We usually order pizza after the boat, and from there some people do a bonfire and some head to a resort bar.

Sunday is flexible. Nothing is required, since most people want to get home. There will be an optional round at Whitebirch in the morning for anyone who wants to squeeze in one more. (at your own expense)

Good to know

What’s included for meals. Breakfast and one group dinner are included in the trip price. Once the roster is set, I’ll share exactly what we’re stocking for breakfast. It’s usually quiches, fruit, and yogurt. Other meals are on your own.

How golf pairings work. Once the roster is set, everyone will get a short pre-trip survey. You can share your handicap, what kind of golf you like to play, and request a cart buddy, so we can pair people by skill level and preference.

Communication goes a long way. We truly appreciate that you chose to spend your hard-earned dollars on a Northern Greens trip. A lot goes into planning these, and we work hard to keep them as affordable as possible. Please reach out to your host with anything you need, any questions, or if you plan to sit something out. Paid experiences like golf and the pontoon are part of the total package price and can’t be refunded if you choose not to participate. For anything else on the schedule, just let us know if you won’t be joining.
